Only when the subsidy dollars per megawatt hour changes is it necessary to change the formula.

Currently:
For wind it is w$*0.01136=tax $
For solar it is s$*.00083=tax $

So, if solar gets $1,000,000,000, coal, oil and natural gas gets ~$830,000, and wind would get ~$73,040,000

If wind gets $1, coal, oil and natural gas gets about 1/10 of a penny, and solar would get ~$14

If solar gets $1,000,000,000, coal, oil and natural gas gets ~$11,363.636

72607260.726072607260726072607261

Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4142988674703954802.post-63759248322854855012013-08-25T07:17:09.846-07:002013-08-25T07:17:09.846-07:00I agree you may be mixing apples and oranges here ...I agree you may be mixing apples and oranges here (which is exactly what the warmists do with this argument).

Also, the subsidies are per megawatt so your statement: "So for every tax dollar that goes to coal, oil and natural gas, wind gets $88 and solar $1,212" is not accurate. You need to add the per megawatt disclaimer here as well. It is a tax deduction for depreciation & depletion of assets, which tax law allows for every corporation in every industry, mature or not.MShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06714540297202434542noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4142988674703954802.post-51675548675359977842013-08-24T16:49:00.060-07:002013-08-24T16:49:00.060-07:00yes, except that the production of oil and hydroca...yes, except that the production of oil and hydrocarbons in general is a hard barrier to the world economic growth. It is an old and mature technology, so it does not need subsidies, but absent alternatives the world will be stuck with ~80% of the population permanently stuck in poverty, until finally a war breaks out.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
