Remarkable new fossil-fuel engine design is 5 times more efficient and reduces emissions 90%

Michigan State University researchers have built a prototype of a remarkable new fossil-fueled engine design which
  • is 5 times more efficient than conventional automobile internal combustion engines, and 3.5 times more efficient than hybrid automobile engines
  • reduces auto emissions up to 90 percent, because the engine uses 60 percent of its fuel for propulsion, compared to a typical car engine that uses only 15 percent of fuel for propulsion.
  • does not have pistons, crankshafts, valves, or a transmission system, cooling system, emissions regulation or fluids reducing costs of the engine system 30% and maintenance costs.
  • can operate on natural gas, gasoline, hydrogen and other fuels.

The Wave Disk Generator revolutionizes auto efficiency at lower vehicle costs.

MSU’s shock wave combustion generator is the size of a cooking pot and generates electricity very efficiently. This revolutionary generator replaces today’s 1,000 pounds of engine, transmission, cooling system, emissions, and fluids resulting in a lighter, more fuel-efficient electric vehicle. This technology provides 500-mile-plus driving range, is 30% lighter, and 30% less expensive than current, new plug-in hybrid vehicles. It overcomes the cost, weight, and driving range challenges of battery-powered electric vehicles.

  1. This is the second recent major technological announcement that potentially can change the face of the motor industry of the future and break away from petrol and diesel.

Recently it was also announced in Britain about a breakthrough in safe, low-cost hydrogen storage technology using nano-structuring to safely encapsulate hydrogen at ambient temperatures and pressures. This sidesteps the requirement for an expensive hydrogen infrastructure:

  2. Is there some information such as a patent to see exactly how it works? The video is just PR, firstly it there is only a model and no working engine that drives a generator, secondly there is no explanation on how it works, thirdly I thought diesel engines are about 45% efficient. Are they comparing some theoretical efficiency of their unit with some second rate petrol engine driven generator unit?

  3. Most "breakthroughs" take years to be converted from lab into commercial use. Usually the time lag has been on the order of 20 years. Many simply do not work when attempted to be put into everyday practice; others have scale issues. When you see those midget Volts have their engine replaced with one of these, then you might get excited.

This engine appears to be a very simple gas turbine. It is essentially a modified spiral vane supercharger running in reverse. It uses compression-ignition to ignite the fuel-air mix.

The result is a very high revolution speed (probably >20,000 rpm) with very low torque. This is why it needs to run a generator to power an electric motor.

The efficiency of 60% is comparable to regular turboshaft engines.

  5. ·2-IMPLOTURBOCOMPRESSOR; One Moving Part System Excellence Design - The InFlow Interaction comes from Macro-Flow and goes to Micro-Flow by Implossion - Only One Compression Step; Inflow, Compression and outflow at one simple circular dynamic motion Concept.

*·“Excellence in Design" because is only one moving part. Only one unique compression step. Inflow and out flow at the same one system, This invention by its nature a logic and simple conception in the dynamics flow mechanics area. The invention is a wing made of one piece in a rotating motion, contained in a pair cavity system connected by implocavity, and interacting dynamically with a flow, that passes internally "Imploded" through its simple mechanism. This flow can be gas (air) or liquid (water). And have two different applications, in two different form-function; this one can be received (using the dynamic flow passage, as a receiver). Or it can be generated (with a power plant, generating a propulsion).

An example cut be, as a Bike needs a chain to work from motor to wheel. And for the Imploturbocompressor application, cut be as; in a circumstance at the engine, as an A-activate flow, and with a a tube flow conduit going to the wheel as a B-receiving-flow the work use.

To see a Imploturbocompressor animation, is posible on a simple way, just to check the Hurricane Satellite view, and is the same implo inflow way nature.

And when the flow that is received and that is intended to be used at best, must no necessarily by a exhausting or rejection gas, but must be a dynamic passing gas or liquid flow with the only intention to count it or to measure it. This could be possible at the passing and interacting period when it passes inside its simple mechanism. This can be in any point of the work flow trajectory.

In case the flow that is received is a water falling by gravity, and a dynamo is placed on the rotary bar, the Imploturbocompressor can profit an be obtained by generating? electricity such as obtained by the pelton well, like I say before. The "Imploturbocompressor", is a good option to pump water, or a gas flow, and all kinds of pipes lines dynamic moves.

Or only receive the air-liquid flow, in order to measure its passage with a counter placed on the bar, because when this flow passes through the simple mechanism of a rotating wing made of only one piece it interacts within the implocavities system. And this flow can be air wind, with the difference of can have an horizontal work position, and that particle technical circumstances make an easy way for urban building work new use application, and have wind flow from all the sides 180 grades view. The aforementioned information about this invention refers to technical applications, such as a dynamic flow receiver. (whether being gas or liquid).
