Data from meteorological stations show that surface air temperatures in the 1980s are the warmest in the history of instrumental records. The four warmest years on record are all in the 1980s, with the warmest years in our analysis being 1981 and 1987. The rate of warming between the mid 1960s and the present is higher than that which occurred in the previous period of rapid warming between the 1880s and 1940.
The Hansen climate alarm timeline:
1988: The Sun controls climate
1988: Hansen 99% certain man-made CO2 controls climate
1998: Hansen says "the forces that drive long-term climate change are not known with accuracy sufficient to define future climate change."
1999: Hansen says "Empirical evidence does not lend much support to the notion that climate is headed precipitately toward more extreme heat and drought." Begins data tampering.
2010: Hansen calls for razing cities to the ground, blowing up dams and switching off the greenhouse gas emissions machine
2013: Hansen's mea culpa? Says global warming has slowed due to surge in coal use
2013: Hansen says NOAA is a denier
Can you imagine the homogenization and creativity Dr. James "Thumbs On The Temperature Scale" Hansen could lend to revising sea level data?
